Water in Airspeed Indicator

28 Sep 2003 Water in Airspeed Indicator

Here’s a weird one – flew through some rough weather last month in the Midwest and now I can see tiny droplets of water covering the inside face of my ASI. Guess I should remove the instrument and have it serviced before it corrodes internally.

Has anyone else had this problem? Date: Fri, 26 Sep 2003 20:23:15 -0400

Phil,

I’ve never had water trouble, but good pitot lines have a water “trap” built into a low spot just for that purpose.
