28 Jun 2022 Silicone Rubber Baffle Seals
These are some photos I took of the lipstick red silicone rubber baffle seals. They are very flexible, even when cold. They seem to seal quite well, and are probably a big part of the reason my engine cooling is very good. What’s interesting is that I don’t have any silicone or RTV caulk between the aluminum baffles and the engine. There are gaps there where cool air can pass without doing a lot of cooling, which is wasteful, but since I don’t have any cooling problems, I have not sealed these gaps.
