Canopy fit

17 May 2004 Canopy fit

From Dave Brand:

Lucky,
I followed the “manual” pretty closely here. I got good results. Most of
your trimming is done at the front of the windscreen, followed by at the
aft end of the bubble. Good advice would be to don`t, however, cut off too
much at the rear until you absolutely have to. If you get the bubble to
rest on the frame back there, and not touch the sheet metal, leave it
alone until you`ve got the rest pretty much where you want it. As others
have posted, it`s a whole new ball game after you make the BIG cut. The
bubble suddenly falls into place, and you`ll wonder what all the fuss was
about. Just get it as close as you can before. It`ll be that much easier
after. If I had it to do over, and as I surely will next time, I`d pay
closer attention to the width of the frame next to the passenger`s
shoulders. In my case, it needed to be a little narrower here for a better
skirt fit. If I`d known, I could have easily squeezed it in a bit for a
much better fit of the skirt. You might want to look into this.
