21 Oct 2019 Bell tailwheel installation
I installed the Bell tailwheel. It was a very easy upgrade. It probably took longer to figure out how to jack up the tail than to install it. I was surprised how much weight is on the tail now that final assembly is almost finished. Up until now I’ve had to keep weight on it to keep from nosing over.
I also installed the rocket steering link which replaces the chains and springs. I know that the tailwheel catches a lot of abuse. I hope this link is up to it.
Slathered a lot of torque seal on the nuts without safety wire or cotter pins as recommended by OFAC.
