Pitot Tube Mount

I've decided to use the Dynon pitot tube, without heat. It's about 200 USD, and includes pipes for Angle of Attack (AOA). I already have the Proprietary Software Systems AOA Sport, and the Dynon will be kind of a backup AOA.

The Dynon Pitot does not come with any mounting hardware. You have to find this somewhere else, or make your own. I chose to buy this kit from Gretz Aero. I think it was about 90 USD.

Here are some photos of the steps I took to get the mount attached to the wing.

I decided to install the mount on one of the access panels for the wing. Here is a photo of the mount kit and the access panel before I start cutting.

Here is the hole being cut in the access panel.

The access panel with the hole cut out. I decided not to use the larger piece of aluminium, just the smaller one. It seems like it will be plenty strong.

Here are the finished pictures with the mount screwed in. I still need to prep/prime/paint. Note the super cool Torx screws from Micro Fasteners. They call them "6 lobe drive" screws to avoid licensing issues with the Textron people.

I did make sure that this thing won't interfere with the aileron belcrank, but since I don't have the pitot tube yet, I'm sure I'll find something interesting when I try to route the pitot air line and the AOA air line.
